About Emilie

I am passionate about good writing. An award-winning poet, I have loved words from an early age.

With a career spanning over two decades in diplomacy and research, as well as a number of relevant degrees under my belt, including a BA from Bristol University in Modern Languages, an MA with Distinction in Creative Writing from Bath Spa University and an editorial qualification from the London School of Publishing, I ensure your words flow seamlessly, that your sentences are well-structured, clear and accurate and that your story draws people in from the first sentence.

My clients are both international and UK-based from a variety of sectors, including literary and academic to public and private, notably TVM Capital Healthcare, ODI, The Centre, the Directorate-General for European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Operations (ECHO), the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Danish Refugee Council, the Norwegian Refugee Council, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the International Rescue Committee and the Afghanistan Analysts Network, among others.

Ashley Jackson, Co-Director, Centre on Armed Groups

"Emilie is an exceptional editor. Having worked with various editors over the years, her precision, dedication, and understanding of the nuances set her apart. She ensures the writer's voice remains intact while elevating the overall clarity and coherence. Whether it's an intricate scholarly article or a creative piece, Emilie’s touch guarantees a polished, professional, and compelling result. Whether it's a book project or a policy report, she is always timely, professional and pleasure to work with."

Hoda Abou-Jamra, Founding Partner and Managing Director Asia of TVM Capital Healthcare

"Emilie is a fantastic writer and editor with a rigorous work ethic. She is an absolute joy to work with. I can't recommend her highly enough."

Kate Clark, Co-Director, Afghanistan Analysts Network

Emilie is a scrupulous editor, but also quick and efficient. She is clear about how long assignments will take and always gets drafts back in time. We publish reports about Afghanistan authored largely by writers who are not native English speakers. Emilie is a skilful enough editor to ensure correct English, while still allowing the feel and tone of a person’s native language or personal style to come through. She’s a delight to work with.
